Underwriters Laboratories Inc., commissioned O’Brien Atkins for the transformative design and branding of its new UL University Training Center (ULU), and located it in existing space on its RTP campus. In addition to the space planning, design and furniture/finishes selections, O’Brien Atkins conceptualized wall mural and other graphic elements to reinforce the UL brand.  Playing off UL’s global brand recognition, the design used graphic panels to reinforce it and added “story board” wall panels with UL history throughout the newly renovated space.

The 1,000 sf downstairs lobby was redone as the main entry for ULU and used the same graphic panel approach for very visible logo and story panel branding reinforcement as visitors/trainees enter.
