The NC State University Biomanufacturing Training & Education Center (BTEC) came about to meet industry’s need for biopharma scientists and technicians.  NC State University and the NC Community College System worked together on the development of this facility, along with industry representatives, and retained O’Brien Atkins to design a hands-on experiential learning center in a cGMP environment.  Students are taught microbial and mammalian cell line development and scale-up processes, bioprocess unit operations, aseptic operations, product testing, small-scale process development and scale-up plant operations, and cell culture and mammalian processes.
